I get asked this ALL the time... i came across this awesome article that I wanted to share:

"If you are planning on using your engagement photos on your save-the-date cards, make sure your photographer has them ready for you about nine months ahead of your wedding date, which is when you should send out your save-the-date cards. (If you don't know your wedding date and location at the nine-month mark, send them out as soon as you have those details.)

If you are planning on running your engagement photo in your local newspaper's engagement announcement section, find out from the editor when you need to have your photo and text sent in.

You do not have to mail your engagement photo by itself to friends and family. You may want to show them to both your immediate families, in case they want to order copies of them; but you do not need to mail them to your guests."

This isn't a joke. An engaged Florida couple has the same first and last name.

Here's how it all started: 20-year-old Kelly Hildebrandt decided to search Facebook for other people with her name. Up popped Kelly Hildebrandt of Lubbock, Tex. For the next three months the two exchanged e-mails and then started calling each other.

Then he decided to visit, and the couple soon began dating. Eight months after Kelly Hildebrandt sent her first e-mail, he proposed. The couple plans to marry in October.

It hasn't been all smooth sailing. A trip on a cruise ship almost got canceled when the travel agent deleted one ticket from the system, thinking someone had plugged in the same information twice.

ROME — A romantic wedding in the Tuscan countryside ended with injuries after an attempt to launch the bride's bouquet from a plane brought down the tiny aircraft.

Italian police say two people were hurt in the crash of the ultralight plane after the bridal bouquet they launched got caught in the aircraft's rear rotor.

The flowers blocked the engine, bringing the plane down by a youth hostel.

Police in the nearby town of Piombino said Tuesday the pilot was lightly injured in Saturday's crash, while the passenger who threw the bouquet had several broken bones.

The bride and groom were not aboard the plane.

So i'm experimenting with my In-Home studio for portrait work, i'm thinking Portable and Mini... i'm in the process of having the backdrops hand colored and dyed by HAND (!!) and the stand custom built of wood (by my dad who also makes the custom frames) (SCORE!)
So i needed a model. Here she is!! T... the photographer's daughter who was born to make funny faces in front of any camera pointed her way. ;)

The Wyandotte Street Fair is always fun, whether you go every year or not, it's always a different experience. The lemonade, the FOOD, the music, the beer tent (ya hoo!!) and old friends. This year I couldn't resist though... the caricature artist was Great and really fun to talk to... so T sat down for 3 seconds so she could draw her up; Of course, afterwards, i regretted not being in the picture with her... but I happily paid the $16.oo and off we went to find the famous Sandy Candy booth.

On a different note..

These suckers were good, but i'm sure they're nothing compared to the couple of photo sessions I have coming up at the local bakery and Cheesecake Magic. (omgilovecheesecake)

Happy 4th of July!!!
Today is a good day to brag about Bella Vino Winery in Wyandotte for 3 reasons:

1. It's a great place to be if you are a fan of the wine. (they also cater to the bride and groom types with GREAT packages for the Happy Couples.)
2. The owner is exceptionally nice.
3. The wine is Fantastic! (I couldn't leave without the bottle of Bordeaux Merlot) YUM!

Tomorrow is the fun photo shoot for the owner and her winery. It'll be big fun!

Wedding day myths! I LOVE IT! There are a few on here that I’m frequently asked…

I hope these come in handy to some of my summer brides.

Wearing pearls: this is one of those wedding myths with both bad luck and good luck meanings. The ominous version of this myth holds that pearls represent future tears; thus wearing them will bring many tears and heartache in the marriage. The luckier version of this implies that the pearls take the place of the bride's real tears, thus she'll have a happy, tear-free wedding.

Tears on the wedding day: it is considered good luck for the bride to cry during her wedding। She will have cried all her tears away leaving none for the marriage. Another theory holds that a bride's tears are good luck as they bring rain for the crops.

Rain on the wedding day: this is another good luck - bad luck wedding myth. In the good luck version, rain is said to foretell the coming of children just as rain promotes growth in the farmer's fields. In the unlucky version, rain drops represent the many tears a bride will cry throughout her marriage.

Sign your married name before the wedding: it is considered bad luck for the bride to sign her married name before the wedding as it tempts fate। For the same reason, the bride should avoid wearing her entire bridal outfit (wedding dress, bridal veil, shoes and jewelry) prior to her wedding day.

Dropping the wedding ring: this is another contradictory wedding myth. On the one hand, dropping the wedding ring during the wedding ceremony was seen as lucky as it would shake out evil spirits hiding in the ring. On the other hand, dropping the ring was considered the most ominous of events; whoever dropped the ring was said to be the first to die.

The bride shouldn't make her own dress: this wedding myth states that for every stitch of the wedding dress the bride sews herself she'll shed one tear during her marriage।

Time of day to get married: the couple should exchange their vows as the clock's minute hand is moving upwards, therefore any time half past the hour, for example 2:30 or 4:45. The upward movement is said to bring blessings upon the couple as the minute hand is "ascending towards heaven."

Surname of the same first letter: it is considered unlucky for the bride to marry a man with a surname that begins with the same first letter as hers. This wedding myth is summarized in the following Victorian rhyme: "To change the name and not the letter; is to change for the worst and not the better."
